Green Tea

The health benefits of Green tea

Other Green tea's medicinal gualitis: easing the effect of alcohol, acting as a stimulant, curing blotchiness, guenching thirst, eliminating indigestion, curing beriberi disease, preventing fatigue, as well as improving urinary and brain function.

Green tea's has also been useful:cognition, stopping certain neurodegenerative illnesses such as Alzheimer's, preventing and treating cancer, treating arthritis, treating MS, preventing the degradation of cell membranes by neutralizing the spread of free radicals, increases fat oxidation, raises metabolism, lowers LDL cholesterol, preventing lowered T-cells due to HIV and more.

Studies have shown that it is a glucose regulator, which means that it slows the rise in blood following a meal.

Green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at 4, 000 years.

Why is Green tea so special?

This substance in Green tea is called epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG. Some scientist speculate that caffeine and EGCG-a highly active catehin in tea-may east together to increase fat oxidation.

EGCG contained in Green tea is at least two hundred times more effective in the neutralization of free radicals than vitamin E.

Antioxidants are chemical that greatly reduce the rate of particular oxidation reaction in the body.This oxidation process can sometimes be carcinogenic and can release free radicals within your body.Free radicals can cause damage to your body's cells.Over time, this damage is irreversible and could lead to cancer.

Antioxidants are extremely important, and a diet containing polyphenol antioxidants, which Green tea contains is basically essential for the health of most mammals and as well they are widely used as ingredients in dietary supplements that are used for health purposes such as preventing cancer and heart disease.

Preparation

The most common way to prepare Green tea is with the use of teabags.

Good quality water is essential for making a good cup of Green tea.

Water temperature, most it is around 165-170 degrees(73-76 C).

Brew time, generally, two minutes.

Very important to not stir, shake or mix the tea.

The use of sweeteners

Never add sugar, honey, or any other type of sweeter to the Green tea.

Dosage and safety

There is no prescribed dosage of Green tea intake for dieters. First timers may tend to experience jitters, insomnia, or restlessness. This, however, should not be a course for worry, as these effects soon disappear when the body of the dieter has finally adjusted.Green tea contain very low levels of caffeine, there is no danger for you health.

History

Tea was discovered in China and is the stuff of myth and legend.

Portugal was the first to export tea to the West.
