Is Arthritis Causing Your Back Pain?
By Sandra Rouse

Do you suffer with back pain? Many people do and they try to treat it themselves until it becomes so severe they can hardly move. If your back hurts everyday and you cannot pinpoint the reason, you should see your doctor. Your back pain may be caused by arthritis.

Any type of pain that is recurring should be discussed with your doctor. There can be any number of reasons for the pain including something as simple as straining a muscle. The only way you can be sure that there is a simple treatment for the pain is to be diagnosed by your doctor. The earlier the problem can be diagnosed, the sooner you will receive relief from the pain. If you are diagnosed with arthritis in its early stages, you may be able to manage the progression of the disease.

A major side effect of chronic pain is depression. Depression affects the way you feel about yourself and it affects the people around you. Depression combined with chronic pain will make your day-to-day life miserable. Depression affects your confidence and self-esteem.

Arthritis is a crippling disease and as it progresses the pain becomes more and more unbearable. Your doctor may prescribe medications to relieve the pain. Some pain-killers are habit forming. Most people do not want to spend their lives dependent on prescription drugs to get out of bed in the morning.

There are vitamins and supplements that can be purchased over the counter that may ease the inflammation and pain caused by arthritis. Some of the vitamins that have been recommended for relieving arthritis pain are vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin B5, vitamin B12, and vitamin E. Zinc, Magnesium, and Calcium are other supplements that may help improve your discomfort from pain and inflammation. Before you buy any medications over the counter, talk to your doctor.

Do not wait until the pain gets so bad you can barely stand or walk. See your doctor and discuss the problem as soon as possible. There are a number of ways to manage the pain.
